My daughter Lindsay is home from college, this is what I came home to last night! These homemade oreos have to be one of my favorite tastes, moist chocolate cake like cookies with creamy buttercream frosting. One bite…oh, proud momma!
Cookies:
1 devil’s food cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening
Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients together with electric mixer. Drop onto cookie sheet by cookie scoop to make uniform cookies. Bake for 8 minutes. Cool.
Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening
1 ¼ cup powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla
milk
Cream butter, shortening and vanilla. Add powder sugar and milk to make a thick frosting consistency. Put two cookies together with frosting.
