Growing up I loved adding Nestle Quik and Carnation Malted Milk powder to my milk, even better, making a chocolate malt milkshake! So, thinking of chocolate malt and brownies this is my latest baking brainchild.

Chocolate Malt Brownies:
1 2/3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
2 Tbl water
3 eggs, beaten
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 cup malt powder
3/4 cup baking cocoa (I used half reg. and half special dark)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1½ cups chopped walnuts, divided
1½ cups coarsely chopped Whoppers(5 oz box), divided
Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 13×9 inch pan with nonstick spray. In large bowl, stir togetherby hand, sugar, butter, and water. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a smaller bowl, stir together flour, malt powder, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, and stir into sugar/butter mixture. Fold in 3/4 cup walnuts and 3/4 cup Whoppers. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until desired brownie doneness. Cool completely in pan.
Vanilla Malt Buttercream:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup malt powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tbl milk
With electric mixer, beat together butter, malt powder, vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk until fluffy. Frost completely cooled brownies. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup chopped walnuts and 3/4 cup chopped Whoppers over frosting. Cut into bars.
